contents
The functional sample represents a component designed for the absorption of impact deformation, manufactured using the DED-LB/W additive manufacturing process . It is made of TWIP steel in the form of a gyroid structure and serves to verify whether this method can be used to produce a part with the required geometrical accuracy and material integrity for applications requiring efficient absorption of impact energy. At the same time, it acts as a demonstrator of the technological feasibility of manufacturing geometrically complex components by additive technologies, with a focus on the homogeneity of the internal structure and the stability of process parameters.
