The research identifies artifacts intentionally reshaped for both utilitarian purposes and symbolic roles, such as trophies or status markers worn by specialized huntergatherers. Distinct morphological changes indicate a transition from functional weapons to prestige objects at the end of their use-life, highlighting the dual role of lithic tools as both practical implements and symbols of social identity.</p> |
