- <p>This dataset contains structured transcriptions of historical phenological observations from an archival collection of the Amberg State Archive, Government of the Upper Palatinate, Chamber of Finance, District Forestry Office, 1855/56. The data were prepared within the PhenoMapping project, which developed a participatory visual platform for the curation, verification, geocoding, and exploration of historical phenological records.</p> <p>The dataset contains 7,823 single observations transcribed from 68 historical questionnaires. The records cover phenological developmental stages of plant species observed in forestry districts of the Upper Palatinate. The dataset was structured to support spatial, temporal, and species-based analysis and to serve as a pilot dataset for exploring the reuse of historical phenological records in Earth system science.</p> <p>The original archival scans are not duplicated in this Zenodo record, as they are already publicly accessible via the DFG Viewer.
