contents
Opening Words

Why a Book on Dr Olawale Dopemu?
ife is a journey lled with
L mysteries; many of which we
may never fully understand.
Through its highs and lows, triumphs
and trials, I have come to believe rmly
in a sovereign God who rules in the
affairs of men. Scripture tells us that no
one can receive anything unless it is
given by God (John 3:27). He is the
inspiration behind this book.
I owe Him my entire journey, from
birth to where I stand today, and to
where He continues to lead me. While
many speak of having a second chance
in life, I have experienced far more than that. As a child, there were moments when my life could
have ended prematurely, yet God preserved me. When my
rst marriage ushered me into one of the most testing seasons
of my life – a period marked by deep emotional strain and
spiritual trials – it nearly derailed me, but God sustained me. I
can boldly testify that His Grace found me. I am a beneciary
of the mercies of God.
Over the years, I have learned that navigating life requires
commitment, resilience, and unwavering perseverance,
especially for someone raised from a humble background. Our
opportunities differ in life as the saying, "Life is in phases, and
men are in sizes". Some were born with a golden spoon, others
with silver; while some, like me, were born with none at all.
Growing up amidst limitations, confronting difcult seasons
and unpalatable realities shaped my character and
convictions. Reecting on where I began and where I stand
today, I am lled with gratitude and a deep sense of
responsibility.
It is my sincere desire to document my journey, as a source of
inspiration to anyone who may see their own story reected in
mine, those currently navigating hardship, and those who will
one day need guidance for their own seasons of trials. If I can come this far, despite my background, then there is
hope for anyone willing to persevere. Every chapter tells a
story, each of the pages is a testament of limitations, warfare,
struggles, grace and triumph.
Thank you for reading
