contents <p>This deposit contains the peat-only subset of the global peatland greenhouse gas flux database compiled for Chen et al. (2026), "Vegetation reshapes the water-table and temperature controls on peatland greenhouse gas emissions" (submitted to Science Advances). The subset includes 14,868 paired CH4-CO2 / water-table observations from 294 peatland sites across 102 peatland complexes, harmonised from peer-reviewed studies (1990-2024). Variables include CH4 and CO2 chamber fluxes, water-table depth, soil temperature, mean annual temperature and precipitation (WorldClim v2.1 where original values were missing), plant functional type classification (graminoid vs non-graminoid), and sampling metadata.</p>
