contents <p><b><i>Оxyporus</i> (<i>Oxyporus</i>) <i>stygicus</i> Say, 1834</b></p><p><b>Published data.</b> HANLEY & GOODRICH (1994): description of E, L3, P, biology and hosts; CAMPBELL (1969): distribution.</p><p><b>Larval morphology.</b> Characters of larva to distinguish it from that of <i>O. vittatus</i>: <i>El</i> <i>1</i> located anterior to, and medially from, to uppermost ocelli; head seta <i>L4</i> present; 3 <i>A</i> and 3 <i>P</i> setae on pronotum; 5 <i>A</i> and 6 <i>P</i> setae on mesonotum; 6 <i>A</i> and 7 <i>P</i> setae on metanotum; 4 <i>A</i> setae on abdominal tergum I. Body setae median length is bigger than of <i>O. vittatus.</i></p><p><b>Development.</b> From egg to imago (22–24°C): 16–18 days; egg: 1–2 days; instar I: 1–2 days; instar II: 1–2 days; instar III: 1–2 days; pupa: 7–10 days. Moults were not observed. Instead, three groups of collected and preserved larvae with different body length were interpreted as three larval instars, respectively.</p><p><b>Behavior.</b> Adults were most commonly collected from fully mature <i>Pleurotus ostreatus</i> mushrooms in association with other <i>Oxyporus</i> or <i>Triplax</i> Herbst, 1793 (Coleoptera: Erotylidae) species.</p>
