Twenty-three and twenty-five lines in a page.</p> <p>The final portion of a concise Commentary (ممزوج) or paraphrase of the Koran, in the mystical way; title and author not ascertained.<sup>1</sup></p> <p>It begins with Sûrah 7, thus: سورة الاعراف سمّیت بها لانها من المنازل الرفیعة لاهل الکمال المقتضین علی سائر الطوائف فشانها اولی بالاعتبار من سائر الشیون المذکورة فی هذه السورة بسم الله الجامع للکمالات.</p> <p>The commentary on each following Sûrah begins in the same way (به or سمّیت بها). Next follows an ever-varying paraphrase of the Basmalah; and it concludes with a pious peroration.</p> <p>Clearly written in two different hands for, and probably in part by, Shâh Makhdûm Ḳâdirî, about A.H. 1100.
