Its former rank under <i>Tropiocolotes</i> has been intensely debated in the herpetological literature (Anderson 1961, 1999; Minton & Anderson 1965; Guibé 1966a; Minton <i>et al.</i> 1970; Kluge 1983; Leviton <i>et al.</i> 1992; Szczerbak & Golubev 1996), but recent phylogenetic studies clearly show the distinctness of these genera (Bauer <i>et al.</i> 2013; Pyron <i>et al.</i> 2013).</p> |
