Head with dark green reflection; mesosoma with dark green reflection and metapectal-propodeal disc black; wings subhyaline; metasoma dark castaneous. Head wide. Mandible with five distal teeth, narrow, curved, and with lower tooth longer than others. Median clypeal lobe rounded, long. Frons coriaceous; antennal scrobe carinate. Eye large. Frontal angle of ocellar triangle acute; ocelli large. Vertex convex. Pronotal disc as long as wide, sparsely punctate, with transverse pronotal carina followed by foveae and with very small longitudinal carina; transverse pronotal carina complete; posterior margin with posterior pronotal sulcus. Notaulus narrow. Mesoscutellar disc with mesoscutellar sulcus narrow. Metapectal-propodeal disc long; metapostnotal median carina complete; longitudinal ridges present; metapostnotal-propodeal suture fused with first metapostnotal carina; paraspiracular carina present and conspicuous; metapleural carina present and conspicuous; metapectal-propodeal disc with short striae; propodeal declivity strigate. Mesopleuron with anterior fovea closed; mesopleural fovea closed; lower fovea divided; posterior fovea absent; mesopleural suture closed. Forewing with stigma developed; Rs&M vein distinguished. Mesotibia not spinose; claws trifid. Metasomal segments glabrous. <b>Genitalia.</b> T9 with anterior arm long and overlapping 2vf; 1vv longer than genitalia body; 2vv shorter than 1vv length, smoothly narrowing apicad; 3vv short; 1vf curved downward; 2vf slender and with dorsal lap strongly swollen posteriorly; 1rv not curved, ventral process small, and posterior process short; 2rv not curved.</p><p><b>Material examined.</b> Holotype, ♀, BRAZIL, <i>Espírito Santo,</i> Pinheiros, Res [erva] Biol [ogica] Córrego do Veado, 18°21'S 40°09'W, 09–17.vi.2011, arm[adilha] Möricke, M.T. Tavares & equipe col[etores] (UFES 63337). Paratype (1). BRAZIL, <i>Pará</i>, 1 ♀, Tucuruí, Rio Tocantins, Base 4, 23.xi–07.xii.1986, arm[adilha] interceptação, N. Degallier col[etor] (MPEG).</p><p><b>Distribution.</b> Brazil: Pará, Espírito Santo.</p><p><b>Remarks.</b> This new species differs from <i>A. grandis</i> by having the head wider than long; the frontal angle of the ocellar triangle acute; the clypeus distinctly wide and long; the transverse pronotal carina followed by foveae and with a very small longitudinal carina; the pronotal disc with a median longitudinal line; and the metapostnotum with all carinae parallel, and with first metapostnotal carina complete, whereas <i>A. grandis</i> has the head as wide as long; the frontal angle of the ocellae forming a right angle; the clypeus rounded, short, and with an apical median tooth; the transverse pronotal carina without foveae and with a small longitudinal carina; the pronotal disc without a median longitudinal line; and the metapostnotum with the metapostnotal-propodeal suture convergent to the first pair of metapostnotal carinae.</p> |
