| contents | <p><b>Genus <i>Tineobius</i> Ashmead, 1896</b></p><p><b>Diagnosis</b></p><p>Females can be recognized by the following combination of characters: vast majority of species with a conspicuously lengthened maxillary palpus with apical palpal segment elongate, distinctly curved or with inner margin angulate basally, prepectus with light-coloured and large frontal surface, propodeum with transverse plical depression and either with membranous white spot or line within depression (nominal subgenus and <i>Duanellus</i>) or with whitish membranous bottom (in <i>T</i>. (<i>Progenitobius</i>) Gibson, 1995), mesotibia without oblique apical groove, gaster with deeply emarginate syntergum and very long and flamentous ovipositor sheaths (Gibson 1995). Excluding some <i>T.</i> (<i>Progenitobius</i>), metatibia conspicuously compressed with laminate dorsal margin and white along lamina or at least dorsobasally, with the exception of some <i>T</i>. (<i>Duanellus</i>).</p> |
