Eastern Atlantic – from Senegal to Angola. Central Atlantic – Ascension Island. Eastern Pacific – Gulf of California, Costa Rica, Ecuador (Galapagos), and Peru (Barros <i>et al.</i> 1997b; Melo 1999).</p><p><i>Ecological notes.</i> Under rocks, on corals, mussels, sponges, oysters, and mangrove (<i>Rhizophora</i> and <i>Avicennia</i>) roots.
