Silvestri’s illustration of the gonopod is accurate. This feature excludes the specimen from the genus <i>Odontopeltis</i>, but identifies the specimen as a member of the family Chelodesmidae. Silvestri’s drawing also indicates torsion of the acropodite, which was not confirmed by our examination of the type specimen.</p> |
