- <p><i>Odontopeltis proxima</i> Silvestri, 1895,</p><p>see Silvestri, 1895b: 5, fig. 6.</p><p>Holotype male, from Argentina, deposited at MRSN, examined.</p><p>Note: the gonopod of the specimen possesses a well-developed ventrally projecting prefemoral process, which covers the acropodite. Silvestri’s illustration of the gonopod is accurate. This feature excludes the specimen from the genus <i>Odontopeltis</i>, but identifies the specimen as a member of the family Chelodesmidae. Silvestri’s drawing also indicates torsion of the acropodite, which was not confirmed by our examination of the type specimen.</p>
