| contents | <p>Cybersecurity within the healthcare industry, for far too long, has been seen as a reactive measure rather than an active one. Companies tend to make up solutions as they go. The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has exposed weaknesses within cybersecurity in the healthcare industry. In addition, the pandemic has also exposed the lack of evolutions of cybersecurity within the healthcare industry. This paper will attempt to answer the question of why cybersecurity has fallen behind and what can be done to improve its footing. More importantly, this paper will go in-depth on blockchain technology and how this modern technology can greatly improve cybersecurity within the healthcare industry. Blockchain technology is relatively new as it is already used in areas of healthcare that deal with accuracy of information. Blockchain technology can be used to help strengthen cybersecurity, offer a new evolution within cybersecurity, and allow the healthcare industry to have an adaptable security framework.</p> |
