Temperature, precipitation variations and focal effects Aguascalientes 1921-1985 Autoría: Lemus, L., Gay, Carlos

Descripción: Resumen: In order to study the temperature and precipitation variations for the state of Aguascalientes, Mexico (22º, 2" N Lat, 102ºW Long), seven meteorological stations data are analyzed. The recorded data are for periods between 1921 to 1985. The possible local effects associated to these variations are studied by the aridity index and productivity (biomass) behavior. The results show an average increase of temperature in the state of T = 0.4ºC. This increase coincides with the general global warming trend reported by Jones et al. (1986). We also found an increase in the aridity index and a reduction of the productivity (gr/m2 year) of the state.

A Silicon Magnetic-Field Sensor: Low-Temperature Performance Evaluation Autoría: García Ramírez, P.J., Sandoval Ibarra, F., Gutiérrez Domínguez, E.A.

Descripción: Resumen: A Si magnetic field-sensitive split-drain MOSFET has been used to study and analyze the effects of a magnetic field on the charge carrier conduction at liquid-nitrogen temperature. In magnetic field sensors (MFS), a key parameter is the Hall angle, which indicates the current line deviation due to the Lorentz force acting on the charge carriers. If temperature is lowered, the carrier mobility increases, therefore, an increase in carrier deflection is expected. To understand the internal deflection of carriers, and optimize the design of a magnetic field sensor, a semi-analytic model has been developed. Using such a model, a MFS has been fabricated and tested. The first experimental results are presented in this work.
